Sit back,
Take in the moment,
Laugh until you cry.
Breath deeply,
Sing loudly,
Don’t let life pass you by.
This aint a fairy-tale.
I’m not the one you’ll sweep off your feet,
and lead her up the stairwell.” —
Remember when we were little
And we would play pretend in the trees?
Remember when you always told me about
Every one of your dreams?
We used to take our toys and put them on a table,
A table that separated two twin beds that created so many fables.
You were always the one that got to pick first,
What we played, what we ‘baked’, drank to quench our thirst.
You were older, so I never said you were wrong,
When you grew your hair out, I wanted to make mine just as long.
You were my rolemodel, sister, and my very best friend,
Who knew our make believe life could quickly come to an end.
Dreams became nightmares,
There never seemed to be an end.
As we both grew older,
Our friendship grew colder.
It was time for us to finally grow up,
No longer necessary to use our powerpuff girl cups.
I see now, when your finally about to move away,
That you need me more than I have ever needed you,
This is hard for me to say.
I never meant to hurt you,
I never meant to make you cry,
So im sorry that I had to say this now, while I say ‘goodbye’
Remember you are smarter, smarter than anyone could wish to be,
Remember to always perceive those dreams as you made us both see.
Don’t forget that you were the only one,
That made our childhood any fun.
But most importantly always remember that there will forever be,
Two twin beds with a table that withhold so many memories.
